Nonantum Resort to Host Blood Drive
Wednesday May 30, 2007 from 10am to 3pm
“Benefit the Red Cross and enter to win
Red Sox tickets”
KENNEBUNKPORT: The Nonantum Resort
in Kennebunkport will host a Red Cross Blood
Drive on May 30, 2007. The Blood Drive will
take place from 10:00AM – 3:00PM at the
waterfront resort on Ocean Avenue. Donors
will be treated to a Deli Buffet compliments
of the Nonantum Resort, following their
donation of blood. As further incentive to
take part in this Red Cross drive, all
presenting donors may enter for a chance to
win Red Sox tickets.*
“We are pleased to host the Red Cross Blood
Drive here at the Nonantum. We recognize the
continuous need in Maine for blood donors,
so we decided to open our doors and make
this a special event at the Resort. We hope
people will find the time to be part of this
drive, and we will have a nice lunch buffet
and a chance to win Red Sox tickets for all
our donors as our way of saying thanks,
“said Tina Hewett, General Manager of The
Nonantum Resort.
The Nonantum Resort, now open for its 124
season, has supported the Red Cross in the
past, including hosting a Hurricane Katrina
fundraiser which raised over $24,000.
The American Red Cross provides blood to 37
hospitals and medical centers in Maine.
Every day in Maine, 300 units of blood must
be collected to meet the basic needs of area
patients, according to The New England Blood
Services Region. Each blood donation has the
potential to help as many as three patients.
Giving blood is truly giving the "gift of
life" to our neighbors. Blood products have
a limited shelf life and must constantly be
replenished daily. The need for this
potentially lifesaving medicine never takes
a holiday.
Most healthy adults can give blood through
the American Red Cross. To donate blood
through the American Red Cross at this
Nonantum Blood Drive, individuals must be at
least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds or
more, be in good health, have no history of
exposure to hepatitis or AIDS, and have not
donated blood donation within the last 56
days (8 weeks). Valid ID is required.
To schedule an appointment for this Nonantum
Red Cross Blood Drive, or if you have any
questions about your eligibility, please
